How We Started
Skyline World Travel was founded in Tokyo in 2012 by Kenji Nakamura, a licensed guide who spent a decade leading groups through Japan's most iconic and least-known destinations. Frustrated by cookie-cutter itineraries that rushed visitors past the very things that make Japan extraordinary, Kenji set out to build something different.
What began as a one-man operation has grown into a close-knit team of expert guides, logistics specialists, and hospitality professionals — all united by a single belief: that the best travel experiences are deeply personal, unhurried, and thoughtfully crafted.
Today we welcome guests from over 40 countries every year, each leaving with stories they'll tell for the rest of their lives.
Our Mission
"To connect curious travellers with the authentic soul of Japan — through private, expert-guided experiences that go far beyond the guidebook."
Our Values
Authenticity
We seek out experiences that reveal the real Japan — its people, traditions, and living culture — not a performance of it.
Expertise
Every guide on our team is a licensed, deeply knowledgeable specialist who has spent years mastering their region.
Personalisation
No two groups are the same. We tailor every tour to your pace, interests, and travel style.
Responsibility
We travel with respect — for local communities, sacred sites, and the natural environments that make Japan so extraordinary.
